2012 Custom Built L00

This has been a personal guitar of mine and was also loaned out to our friend and demo player Bob Halperin which he played out all over New England for the past year or so…

In February of 2012,  luthier – builder David Hatchard of Exeter New Hampshire hand built 2 of these fabulous guitars for me.

Fabricated to the exacting specs of one of my 1933 Gibson L00s but with some minor yet important “improvements”.

Knife sharp scalloped bracing and paper thin select master grade Adirondack top and Honduran Mahogany back, sides and neck. Comfortable expertly hand carved shallow oval neck featuring an old growth Brazilian rosewood fretboard and a very cool Gibson replica bridge exactly like its inspiration.

This one has premium quality Waverly tuners, John Greven pick guard, Willi Henkes bridge pins with simple fibroid ivory binding and matching tuner buttons. Elegantly inlaid mother of pearl headstock logo.

Professionally fitted with a K&K Pure Mini pick up and whether plugged in or not this guitar has truly sensational sound characteristics, honest!! Watch the videos.

My apologies  for the glare in the photography, but you actually need sunglasses just to look at the fabulous burst David applied with old school Nitrocellulose lacquer.
