ca 1944 Spruce Top Gibson Banner LG2 with Maple Back and Sides.
Rare example of one of these war time beauties. Maple back and sides with a spruce top! Adjustable truss rod and a single piece mahogany neck with very comfortable profile, not the base ball bat size.
Cool Mojo showing some minor scratches otherwise totally original. Made during WWII by the Kalamazoo Gals.
Master luthier, Ross Teigen of Naples Florida painstakingly re glued every brace and tone bar, re set the neck, fabricated a new bone saddle, replaced every fret, re glued the pick guard and cleaned up some old top cracks. The tuners are original and Ross cleaned them and they remain fully functional. The bridge pins are replacement Antique Acoustics replica Gibson pins from Willi Henkes of Germany. No refinish was performed; the top was just buffed out. This guitar is considered original with a proper functional restoration comparable to belt and hose replacements on a vintage car.
Ross’s set up includes perfect intonation and comfortable action suitable for even the most accomplished players.
A great sounding example indeed. Check out the cool demo videos by Fish AND video of the new steward of this guitar.
