1926 Lyon & Healy Washburn Model 5202 Parlor Guitar
1926 Lyon & Healy manufactured Washburn Model 5202 Concert size Parlor Guitar.
Gorgeous Brazilian rosewood back and sides, bound with white celluloid including the inlaid back strip, Adirondack spruce top with Spanish cedar neck, freshly French polished by New Hampshire luthier Pat Diburro. Flawless neck set and set up with comfortable 4-3 action. Never touched, fully intact ladder bracing.
Elegant pearl inlaid extremely rare “sailor’s cap” headstock with “ears” only seen on 1926 models. Truly magnificent engraved original tuners and Wasbhurn “smile bridge” with ivory saddle. 18 fret Ebony fingerboard. Sound hole bound with three sets of black/white rings. MOP dot fret markers at 5,7,10 and12. Built fro steel strings and currently strung with extra light phosphor bronze. Lower Bout = 13″ Nut Width = 1 13/16″ and appears to be ivory. Lyon & Healy “Makers” mark impressed with ink stamped inside. Topped off with a gorgeous set of “one off” Bob Colosi dyed bone bridge pins.
This guitar shows very nicely aged top which has some dings and scrapes but only ancient and stable hide glued hairlines on the lower bout. No other evidence of inside repairs what-so-ever.
Stunning and extremely rare guitar and fabulous finger picker. This guitar truly sings the songs of the roaring twenties era!
