1938 Gibson – Kalamazoo KG14

An absolutely stunning 1930’s burst with sensational Gibson crazing on this one! When I photographed it under natural sunlight, the burst was so bright I almost needed sunglasses. She might look beautiful but make no mistake, this is no girly girl, she’s a naughty one and capable of those nasty blues the boys like to play….

And such the survivor she is, all there and original to the last fret and all cool! Based on the Gibson L-00, yet ladder braced. A stunning depression era legendary finger style / slide blues picker just like Robert Johnson played. Totally cool and did I say she is simply … beautiful?

All original tuners, fire stripe pick guard and bridge. Plays impeccably thanks to the neck set and set up by David Hatchard. Action is set to 4/32″ at the E and 3/32″ at the e with a full height saddle. David also added two small tapered finger braces around the inside of the sound hole, not at all noticeable – which we feel provides stability to the top and improves the sound and structure of the instrument. A proper modification to these ladder braced guitars.
