Absolutely stunning sound characteristics on this one, truly one of the best sounding examples I’ve ever had. Honest!

Absolutely no excuses or re fin what-so-ever, all honest player love. Has some old case wear on the sides and back and there is that top pick rash but the finish is all original with some of the most stunning Gibson crazing you have ever seen. The ancient pick rash at the bottom of sound hole is proof she’s been loved!. The back of the soft V neck is very clean. There are a two well repaired cracks on the back and a top seam separation that are really a no never mind for such a fabulous sounding authentic player.

This one has never been seen on the net and all of the restoration work was impeccably performed by David Hatchard Lutherie of Exeter New Hampshire which included a fresh neck re set and new bone saddle on a never shaved original bridge with a set of Willi Henkes Antique Acoustics repro bridge pins added, complete re fret and some tastefully filled fretboard divots but otherwise all original including the tuners and buttons. Action is set at a comfortable hair under 4-3 with proper string break producing perfect intonation with a nut width of 1 3/4″.

This one has the knife sharp X braces we love to find, offering a tone that is round, sweet, and warm on the low end with a hint of darkness and that classic 30’s Gibson punch in the trebles.

This legendary model has always been a favorite of our picking circle and I do my very best to find these great examples for you cats and this one will be painfully missed. She truly has the mojo!
