1951 Martin 0-17T Tenor Guitar
Built in 1951, this all mahogany 0-17T Tenor guitar came to usĀ from the family of the original owner and has survived a lifetime free of cracks or alterations.
Martin’s impeccable build quality is evident even in this smaller 17 style instrument. The result is a great sounding 4 string useful for many tunings and applications. Try the typical tenor guitar tuning of CGDA or the familiar top strings of a guitar DGBE. Even octave mandolin tuning GDAE is a fun tuning. The compact size also makes for an airplane friendly travel guitar.
Our maintenance included a light fret dress and neck reset. David Hatchard was able to carefully re set the neck angle and preserve the original ivory saddle. With 3/32″ action on the lowest string and 2/32″ on the highest you won’t find a tenor that plays more comfortably. The original crumbled tuner buttons and bent bridge pins have been replaced with vintage correct Willi Henkes Antique Acoustics pins and buttons.
The original well fitting chipboard case, also in fine condition, is included.
