1952 Gibson J50
Deep woody tone, bright highs and sizzling mid-range… any serious player must have a J45 or J50 in the lineup. These are truly sensational guitars!
The mahogany back and sides are finished light and the top is a natural colored straight grain spruce. Gibson was known for using their best woods for the natural top models.
And this example is no exception with the lacquer aged to a stunning honey color.
Forward X braced with two scalloped tone bars. Single bound top and back with a white-black-white simple rosette. Original nicely figured Brazilian rosewood belly up bridge with bridge bolts through to a small maple unmolested original bridge plate.
The nitrocellulose tear-drop pick guard has figuring similar to the Martins of the early 30s and 50 simply gorgeous.
This guitar has plenty of power and punch when flat picked and excellent clarity and sustain when finger picked or strummed. A true joy to play!
100% original with some well repaired road wear. Fabulous neck reset and pro set up by Ross Teigen Guitars. ~1 11/16 at the nut with proper string break across the bone saddle and action set at ~ 3/2 measured at the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the E & e.
Gibson badged proper fitting hard case.
