1950 C. F. Martin 000-18

1950 C. F. Martin 000-18 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar made in Nazareth, PA, natural finish, mahogany back and sides, mysterious spruce top, mahogany neck with nicely figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & bridge with original dark tortoise shell pickguard. Tapered straight braced with rear shifted X brace and light as a feather with essentially the same specs developed in the mid-forties.

Everything is all there and all original with a tastefully installed (and useful) strap pin. This instrument has a few very minor character scratches and some pick wear, but no gouges and is virtually crack free sans a superficial surface pick guard hairline that has been well repaired and non detectable to the eye.

Just one owner between me and the original owner who purchased it new from Bergstrom Kellerman’s Music in Honolulu, a well-known Martin Dealer.

As I’ve stated in the past, I’m most commonly known for my small bodied depression era Gibson’s but I totally get the appeal of the Post War era Martins. And I’ve been fortunate to have owned and played some good ones and this guitar is very special indeed and can truly be described as magical.

Clean original and unmolested bridge plate and never the need for any structural repairs.

Effortless playability with focused sound characteristics of strong projected mids – trebles, due to the rear shifted X bracing. Professionally set up and suitable for the accomplished player. Action is set at ~ 3/2 with a 1 11/16″ nut and 24.9″ scale. Proper string break across the bone saddle.

Offered in a proper fitting CF Martin badged ABS 000 case, not new but in very good condition.

Find out what it’s like to truly fall in love with a sensational guitar!
