1933 Gibson Kalamazoo KG-11
***SOLD***
1933 Kalamazoo KG-11.
Only year of the zipper (checkered) sound hole binding. Also seen on the later Carson J. Robinson versions. At some point this guitar had a raised pick guard (original option) but now has a slight shadow. I love the small burst on this guitar, I call this the Lloyd Loar sunburst. Nary a crack anywhere. Great action! You could just stare at the stunning headstock all day.
Acknowledged by both players and collectors as one of the very best finger picking blues guitars ever made!
To my way of thinking, the KG-11 was one of the best ideas Gibson ever had. I have never heard a bad sounding one yet.
This guitar reaches out from the depression and sez…play me!
